What's in the Works

We've done it. At last!




Ok, not quite yet, or at least not quite what you think.

 I realize I that this is the third update post in a row, but today (ok, now I guess it's yesterday as I'm finishing this post) we had a genius idea. For a long time, K and I have had a dream...a dream of combining our mutual obsession with Minecraft and our blog...in a way that didn't  involve a bunch of inside jokes and Minecraft-specific jargon.

No, while I was in the middle of drawing a few really terrible pictures for the Fish Sympathy II post, I just couldn't handle it anymore.

I have a confession to make.

I CAN'T DRAW.

I can't draw on the computer. I can't draw by hand.

The only place I can draw is in my head, and for better or worse, you can't see the pictures in there.

So what does this mean for a blog thus far built on snappy words and stupid looking pictures? Probably not that much, but what it does mean is that K and I are going to start to embrace more of our film sides in the coming future.

One project we're beginning to map out is the prospect of some Minecraft live-streamed video, or, at the very least, a Minecraft-themed absurdist/dramatic periodic series of blog posts.

Trust me, I've wanted do a video of this kind ever since I first started watching The YogsCast on YouTube for all of their hysterical Minecraft material.

Now, I'm not the funniest person ever, that's a given, but I am damn near infatuated with this game enough to make some very entertaining things with it.

Granted, it irks me that we would possibly be duplicating an idea, at least conceptually...but who's to say that the world doesn't need more comedic Minecraft-facilitated soap operas?

Suffice it to say, I wouldn't dare invest as much effort as this sort of endeavor would require if I didn't think that we'd be able to pull it off with a level of humor anyone could enjoy. Maybe it's not quite right for THIS blog in particular...in which case maybe we'll branch out a little bit? It remains to be seen, yes, but we figured we'd give you a heads up.

Finally, that all having been said, we love you all, and we have lots of posts in the works. THAT having been said, it's been said before, I know.

I'm trying real hard, OK?!

Combating an addiction to an alternate, curveless, reality to try to appease you all.

What definitely helps is you guys saying you want more...and I've gotten such requests recently about funny posts, and pictures we've had, and it makes me SO RIDICULOUSLY HAPPY.

So keep doing that. It's awesome.

We'll keep you updated with what's going on editorially speaking :-) because you're awesome.

Thanks for keeping the faith...we'll be back up and running ASAP.
