Work in Progress

It was almost like a whim, but an involuntary one. "We should make a blog," Katlyn said. I tried to thrash her hopes for as long as I could before I submitted to the fact that we would be awesome at it.

It's going to be an interesting journey full of blood, lachrymose, and laughter, but hopefully just the last one. Mostly.

In Memoriam: Roger

Roger was a good, loyal friend to me. Although our time together was brief, it never showed any signs that it was to end so prematurely, if ever.

You were the first Minecraft wolf I ever encountered, Roger, and I took great pains to win your affections, entreating you with pork chops both raw and cooked, and your clear favorite, bones. In return for my offerings, you displayed a kind of love not often seen in video games, a love which I shall not soon forget, even should I come across another majestic creature (likely to be a phenotypical replica of yourself).

The circumstances surrounding your death were so very unexpected. Like Timmy from Lassie, I had fallen down a chasm, desperately injured and unprepared to face what lurked in the caves below. Fearless, you charged in with reckless abandon to save me from the approaching horde of spiders and creepers. But alas, after valiantly surviving 2 creeper explosions, the third proved too much for both of us, and while the Minecraft-Gods have given me eternal life at the expense of my possessions, you, with no offering to give save your brilliant compassion, perished.

I have not been able to find the site where you met your untimely demise, and this pains me, for one as courageous as yourself ought to be commemorated for eternity with a structure worthy of your glory.

In lieu of such a monument,  I hold up this blog post in reverence to you, Roger--a true and perfect friend.

Requies In Pacem.
