We haven't forgotten about you all, don't worry. How could we do that? You're all far too cool. We do, however apologize for a lack of content in recent weeks. We're sure you understand...sometimes you just have those weeks where life comes at you hard--like, bloodthirsty professional linebacker hard. The last several weeks have been like that.
First and foremost, school decided to make it rain on dem hoes. Regrettably, they decided to dump homework on us, the hoes.
Essays. Essays multitudinous enough to make the Pope convert to Islam.
Then, clubs and organizations took their toll, with elections, and giant plans, and events, and meetings, and banner making, and staying up forever and ever working on the newspaper. All those things try to squeeze the life out of you, like a python, or maybe crush-impale it out of you, in one of these:
One of those events both K and I were heavily involved in was the Day of Silence events. It was a pretty big deal for BC, because it's the first time they've ever approved an event like this. Naturally, being the overachievers and do-gooders that we are, K and I both gave speeches at a rally...so we had to write those and practice them, and deal with all the anxiety therein.
Of course, the following day, we actually had to be quiet all day, which was much more difficult than I anticipated. Do you know how hard it is to be silent all goddam day long? Do you know how hard it was not to sing along [badly] to a song being played? To not be able to awkwardly say hello to all those people you don't really want to say hi to, but because you can't say hi, you suddenly want to? To not talk TO YOURSELF? By the end of it, I had a sore throat from not talking. Truly ironic.
Finally, to top it all off, K, myself, and one of our friends made a quasi-irresponsible decision to rent a Minecraft server where we could play multiplayer and make awesome stuff with three people instead of just one. Suffice it to say, we've got half a town done already, and Lord knows I am a hazard to it, since I've accidentally burnt down no fewer than 5 houses. Minecraft is turning me into a cyber arsonist. Suffice it to say, punching trees has been something I've done quite a bit of as of late.
So now you know what we've been up to. Sadly, there are no excuses for disappearing, especially when the blog is so young. My heart feels as though I've left a baby outside for weeks. Luckily, the baby has survived, and I'm ecstatic to find that it has...and that it hasn't, well...you know...
Coming soon we have: My Weird Fish Complex, Sumthin'-Sumthin' pertaining to Finals, and more! So stick around as we get back into the swing of things, and learn to balance keeping you laughing (or smirking, since most of my jokes aren't that funny) and being nerds!
Thanks!
-K & D
