3,000...You Sneaky Bitch

I wuv you all.

So, we've actually got TWO pieces of exciting news happening right now for the FGC:

1. We hit 3,000 views today!
2. We got our first LOVE MAIL!

The face to the right is, without exaggeration, extremely creepy.

In my burst of happiness, I could hardly control my artless hands, and flew straight to Paint to make the most elated face I knew how--demonstrating beyond any reasonable doubt that I actually do not know how. I'm also sleep deprived, as follows.





So first of all, I'll start with the context of my day. I didn't sleep...I never went back to Newton. The newspaper owns my ass, suffice it to say.

I went to my classes like a fucking champ, even got the i-clicker question right in geology. Despite the adrenaline I should have gotten from that, I was still walking around looking something like...

Pathetic, I know.

Then I finally got back to my room and slept (also like a champ) until a little while ago, when I woke up, checked the blog, and found that we were extremely close to 3,000 views before I could even come up with any ideas for how to celebrate it.

(I'm amazed that, lately, though it seems as if we've been having a dry spell in terms of quality content, we still manage to rake in a decent number of views on a daily basis.)

Then I sort of shrugged and said that I'd wait till 5,000 to do something.

But then, I checked our email for the blog, and oh my baby Jesus, the subject line said:

"Your blog is incredible"

It hit me like:

At first, my cynical side took over and thought it might be some sort of sadistic sarcasm--more hate mail. But when I summoned up enough courage to open it, I was elated to find that it actually contained a stream of real compliments!

Now, not to toot the FGC's horn or anything, but this isn't the first time fans have expressed their ardent adoration for the blog.

The only caveat with that is: I know, or Katlyn knows, almost everyone who tells us this.

It's sort of like when you mess up at a big piano recital and your mom still tells you you did a good job (I'm speaking from personal experience) because she's your mom and that's what moms do...along with bringing you a new shirt and new pants for a dance on Friday night on very short notice! (Thank you, Mom).

I have no clue who you are, very nice person, but your words have utterly made my day.

And thank you to everyone, because, well, you're awesome!

(P.S. To help notify people of posts more effectively...we're considering getting a Twitter...though I hate Twitters and think that they should die. Twitter? Facebook page? What might work for people best?)
